This Saturday, catch yours truly spinning the hottest music with two of Boston’s hottest DJs in the LGBTQ scene: Ms. Jackie the Mixtress and Ms. Lady J (aka JamilaAfrika). I make my return to the Milky Way (284 Amory Street, Jamaica Plain, MA) joining forces with these lovely, wonderful, and talented ladies on the 1s and 2s. Hosted by the one and only Jha D, you know this party is gonna be turnt up!

On Monday, March 11, I will be featured on YARR (You Ain’t Ready Radio) in their “Monday Mixup” show. Founded and hosted by Naomi “Beeza” O’Bannon, a former Columbia Records street team member, she made her mark promoting for many heavyweight hip hop artists such as 2Pac, Notorious B.I.G., and Snoop Dogg. Beeza has also been a prominent figure in Boston’s urban music scene since the 90s, as a DJ for WRBB 104.9 and a VJ/Promoter for BNN (Boston Neighborhood Newtork) Television.

This Boston based internet radio show broadcasts Monday and Wednesday starting at 7PM EST. Primarily an urban radio stream, their mission is to help promote and support local and global independent artists for listeners to tune in to. It is an EOR (Equal Opportunity Radio), where everybody has a voice to share in many different ways. Music has no limits. You Ain’t Ready Radio has reached 40k listeners worldwide and music becomes more and more diverse week after week. The “Monday Mixup” features guest DJs from all over and respective sets are broadcasted to their listeners. A new DJ is featured each and every Monday. Listeners can also gather additional information about guest DJs in the YARR official website.

Listeners can tune in on Monday night at 7PM to catch my broadcasted set via the link below. I know “You Ain’t Ready” for this!

Welcome to the new site!

Hello everyone and welcome to the new website to yours truly, DJ Lady Spindrift. January had been quite a busy month in terms of preparations for the year 2013 (projects, promotion, gigs, etc). But finally, I make this official to everyone, new faces and familiar ones.

My goals for 2013 include working on my own blends/edits/remixes, as well as moving towards the production phase (beat making), all while working on booking gigs for this year. Alongside of my production goals, I am looking forward to working with and supporting local artists, DJs, and making my move in continuing to contribute to the Lesbian, Gay, Bi, Transgender, Queer (LGBTQ) community. I strongly feel that this year, I need to make my move in expanding my DJing even further. I decided to make plans in booking gigs outside of the Boston area and venture towards my home state New Hampshire and other prominent cities such as New York, New Haven, Philadelphia, and so on. This means, I will be working on a ton of networking with new faces in the process. So stay tuned for that.

I want to give a gigantic thanks to Matt Yezuita/VirgoAscendant, who has been putting in a ton of hard work on my website, as well as my new DJ logos and business cards. Without him, this all would not be possible. I also want to give a big thanks to friends, family, and people who have enjoyed my sets and my performances up to now. You guys always give me the motivation to help continue doing one of the things I love in my life. It is time to aim higher and higher, especially for 2013.
